- Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
- In a separate bowl, cream butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until a soft dough forms.
- Scoop dough onto the baking sheet and gently press the center of each cookie.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are set but centers remain soft.
- Heat heavy cream until warm and pour over chopped dark chocolate. Stir until smooth.
- Fill the cookie centers with the chocolate mixture and top with chopped cherries.
- Let cookies cool before serving.
