Ingredients
  

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 oz dark chocolate chopped
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup chopped cherries

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until a soft dough forms.
  6. Scoop dough onto the baking sheet and gently press the center of each cookie.
  7. Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are set but centers remain soft.
  8. Heat heavy cream until warm and pour over chopped dark chocolate. Stir until smooth.
  9. Fill the cookie centers with the chocolate mixture and top with chopped cherries.
  10. Let cookies cool before serving.

Notes

Use high-quality cocoa powder and dark chocolate for the best flavor.
Pat cherries dry if they are very juicy to avoid excess moisture.
Do not overbake to keep the cookies soft and fudgy.
